The students at CIS made ‘SHERA’ the symbol of the COMMONWEALTH GAMES on Thursday, 7th October 2010. All the students at CIS from Nestling to Grade 6 brought thermocol glasses and painted them with the help of Mr. Sudarshan Pal Singh, Artist (Chitkara Education Trust) and Ms. Manika, Designer (Chitkara Education Trust). The students made 15 feet by 8 feet tall shera with thermocol glasses. This activity was held to pay a tribute to all the participants at the Delhi 2010 XIX COMMONWEALTH GAMES.
“Shera” the name is derived from the word ‘sher’ and represents the Royal Bengal Tiger. It is inspired by the Ashoka Chakra from the Indian National flag- the symbol of freedom, unity and power.
