At Chitkara International School, we take a hand, open a mind, touch a heart and shape a future. Apart from acquiring a strong academic background, we want our students to become exceptionally well rounded individuals with a high emotional quotient. We treat each child as an individual with individualistic needs and cater to his or her needs in a personalized way. Individually they get to express themselves and their unique qualities through various activities. We support our students by showing interest in and appreciating their work, thus encouraging them to be independent as learners.

Avneet Sandhu, daughter of Mrs. Navneet Sandhu and Mr. Varinder Sandhu, a student of Grade 5 at Chitkara International School has been selected as the Junior T.V host for the Mohali IPL team this season. Avneet is now gearing up to play her role to perfection. The channel hunted across 50 towns, 1200 schools and 8 metros to choose the 8 junior presenters to host Extraa Innings Junior. Around 400 students from the city participated, out of which nine were shortlisted and she was amongst those students who got selected for the audition.

“Ever since I can remember, I have been hooked to cricket. When the call for the auditions came up, I told my mum that I wanted to try.” I want to be like Mandira Bedi. I love the way she walks, talks and anchors.” says Avneet Sandhu.
When asked about on what grounds were they selected, she replies, “We were tested on confidence level, communication skills, on screen presence and the passion for cricket.”

Avneet Sandhu’s parents Mrs. Navneet and Mr. Varinder Sandhu commented, “ Avi is a go getter, when she makes up her mind to do something, she grabs the opportunity and wants to excel in that field. She’s an achiever and keeps on adding feathers to her cap, just one is not enough.”

The principal of Chitkara International School, Ms. Niyati Chitkara said that “Avneet had also hosted the entire winter Olympics at the school and when the opportunity came to us we didn’t hesitate to send our students. Avneet has not only made her parents proud but also the school is very proud of her.”
Gaurav Seth, the Vice President, marketing, Max. Said “Children in India grow up on cricket” They love to watch the match and talk about it with peers and soon they are out playing and enjoying in the gully”

He also added that the Junior hosts will get an opportunity to express their views and interact with their home team players, guests and expert panel on-air for the entire DLF IPL 2010 season.

So be ready to watch out Avneet on Set Max, from 13th March onwards.
