Chitkara International School celebrated Holi on Friday, February 19th 2010.
The theme this year was to de-pollute Holi and make it in sync with nature. The students were asked to bring flower petals and make the celebration pollution free. A workshop was also organized where the students were taught how to make Eco friendly colors. The students made various colors such as red, yellow, green, orange etc by fruits, flowers, henna leaves, etc which are easily available. For example they mixed turmeric powder with chick pea flour to get yellow color, to get red they mixed red sandalwood powder with wheat flour. They also learnt how to make water guns out of paper.
It is a leap into a future of environmentally conscious citizens and a greener, cleaner and a more beautiful city for all to enjoy. Overall the festival of Holi was celebrated with full fervor.
