Earth Day

Chitkara International School celebrated The Earth week from 19th - 22nd April.

Earth Day is the name given to the annual observances that are intended to raise awareness about a wide range of environmental issues and problems, and to inspire people to take personal action to address them. One of the major problems which earth is facing is Global Warming which is accompanied by high pollution levels and these conditions further lead to the emergence of many new diseases. To mark this day the students of Chitkara International School celebrated the earth week from 19th to 22nd April in which they performed different activities throughout the week. The students of grade 1 made a birdhouse and attached it to the tree house in the school. The students of grade 3 made bookmarks and the students of grade 5 made posters with the theme “Save Earth”. The tiny tots also showed their participation by planting trees with a message of ‘Grow More trees’. The students also discussed about various issues such as overpopulation and other critical environmental issues. They were also shown a documentary film ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ where the movie talks about the pressing environmental problem afflicting all of us mainly Global Warming. Chitkara International School believes that every person on Earth shares the responsibility to do as much as they can to preserve the planet’s finite natural resources today and for future generations.
